A press conference on the occasion of the 55th Festival of Opera and Ballet Art (FOBI) /21 November - 7 December 2025 took place today in Hall 203 of Stara Zagora Municipality.
FOBI is organized by the State Opera - Stara Zagora with the financial support of the Culture Fund - Stara Zagora Municipality, the Ministry of Culture and the National Fund for Culture and the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability.
In the rich program of the Festival this year there are 4 opera titles, 1 ballet, 3 symphony concerts, 1 operetta concert, 2 exhibitions, 3 book presentations, presentation of the Opera's fund in Bulgarian National Television, national conference, validation of a postage stamp and other events. FOBI takes place on 3 stages: the Opera Stage, the Foyer Stage, the Zahariy Knyazheski Regional Library Hall.
The press conference today was attended by - Milena Zheleva, Deputy Mayor, Vladimir Boshnakov, Director of Stara Zagora State Opera, Sylvia Tomova, Artistic Director of the Ballet, Lyubomir Kutin, Organizing Secretary of the Festival, Denis Ivanov - stage designer and costume designer of the performance of the opera "André Chenier", which opens the FOBI on 21 November and which will be realized for the first time in Stara Zagora Opera.
The Mayor of Stara Zagora Municipality Zhivko Todorov also wished "Good luck" to the team of the Stara Zagora State Opera and announced that at his meeting today with the Ambassador of Israel in our country he had extended a special invitation to him to attend the opening of the Festival.
A detailed announcement of the FOBI 2025 programme was made by Vladimir Boshnakov, Director of the State Opera-Stara Zagora.
