For the third time in three consecutive months "Phantoms of the Musical"

For the third time in three consecutive months "Phantoms of the musical" in Stara Zagora?! No, it will not be the same. Every time is different. And this time it will be different. This is the idea, concept and realization of director Georgi Dinev. And by the emotion with which each of the performers participates in this beautiful concert-performance.
In the edition on June 14 /Sunday/ at 6 pm on the Opera House stage you will have the pleasure to see performances by Militsa Gladnishka, Vesela Morova, Desi Stefanova, Yanitsa Nesheva, Mark Fowler, Milko Mihaylov, Georgi Dinev, Kamelia Stoycheva.... and something /someone/ else. His name is Milen Shopov. He is the son of one of the most beloved soloists of the State Opera-Stara Zagora - tenor Atanas Shopov. A lawyer by profession, he is the "driving force" behind the Opera's new board, which was recently introduced to the public. "I am truly happy to accept the invitation extended to me months ago by tenor-director Georgi Dinev to appear on the really high stage of the Stara Zagora Opera and to be part of the concert performance "The Phantoms of the Musical". The fragments from the musical "Jersey Boys" were specially written for an opera orchestra by the composer Georgi Andreev - one of the best in the industry in our country and in general" - says Milen Shopov. He has already performed in several concerts on stages in the capital.
In addition to the wonderful soloists, the concert-performance "The Phantoms of the Musical" also features the choir and ballet of the State Opera-Stara Zagora. The author of the costumes and consultant of make-up, hairstyles and accessories is Zlatna Mikhailova. The orchestra of the State Opera-Stara Zagora is under the conducting of Maestro Lyubomir Denev and creates an ineffable atmosphere with quality sound and stylish presence.
Why do so many people around the world like the musical? Because it gives the sure effect of the "happy pill". It acts like a magnet for those looking for the happy ending to a fairy tale. One theatre historian tells us that during the Great Depression in the US, only the stage was able to inspire hope and hopefulness. "There was the only place you could dream," Judy Garland, the timeless performer of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, wrote in a letter. Her vivacious radiance was meant to influence people downtrodden by worry and dead ends. Even today, cinema continues to use these tools of mass suggestion. Despite the rise of the film industry after World War II, Broadway stages in turn discovered and created movie stars and continue to rival even the largest-scale film productions.
Today, the main criticisms of Broadway productions relate to the considerable financial resources spent on extravagant costumes, machinery, musical effects, huge dance troupes, and everything that makes up the magical world of the musical. The producers' response is short, comprehensive and cynical: "The price of happiness is high."
